Dominic Dispirito is a painter, sculptor, and video artist whose large scale works employ 3D printing pens, airbrushes and spray paint to mimic the colours and textures of digital drawing techniques. Exploring the relationship between human and machine – the virtual and the real – each of Dispirito’s works are born as drawings and animations on his iPhone. These small digital studies form the basis for his physical works. The vibrant hues and cartoonish features in Dispirito’s paintings, sculptures, and animations thinly veil the sinister undertones that pervade his work.
Dominic Dispirito was born in the UK in 1982 and currently lives and works in London. He received her MFA in painitng from the Slade School of Art in 2017 and his BFA from Middlesex University in London in 2013.
In 2017, Annka Kultys Gallery is pleased to welcome Dispirito by hosting his first presentation in Cacotopia 02 in January 2018.
