Recently, Signe Pierce sat down for a candid interview with Ralph Arida of Plastik Magazine to discuss the current state of pop culture and fine art. Pontificating on the role of the artist in mass media, and her self-proclaimed status as a reality artist, Pierce said: “The separation of an artist’s work and an artist’s life is rapidly disappearing. We use our phones and computers to capture our lives in media, and can instantly export and broadcast that content on the Internet. The Selfridges Eye, a new editorial project focusing on individuals who challenge conventions and defy expectations, has featured Signe Pierce’s solo show Metamirrorism. The author writes, “Walking into the space is like stepping into a digital blender – or, in layman’s terms, as if the internet had vomited on itself.
