Exhibiting, Contextualising and Collecting Crypto Art

SEASON 3
ANNKA KULTYS PHYGITAL
1 SEPTEMBER 2022 — 1 SEPTEMBER 2023
ANNKA KULTYS PHYGITAL (blend of digital and physical experiences) is an experimental virtual reality gallery for showcasing, contextualising, and collecting Crypto Art.
“Phygital” is a term used to describe the way in which technology and physical space interact in contemporary art. The term is a portmanteau of “physical” and “digital,” and reflects Kultys’ belief that the boundaries between these two domains are becoming increasingly blurred in the digital age.
For Kultys, “phygital” refers to exhibitions that integrate physical and digital elements — ANNKA KULTYS PHYGITAL presents digital sculptures, videos or installations in a virtual reality gallery. She sees this hybrid approach as a way to create immersive and engaging experiences for viewers while exploring the ways in which technology has been transforming the production, the presentation and distribution of the artworks today.
The concept of “phygital” has become a key part of Kultys’ curatorial vision. By showcasing the artists and promoting the phygital approach more broadly, Kultys hopes to shape the conversation around contemporary art and technology, and to push the boundaries of what is possible in both gallery’s realms.
You are welcome to visit ANNKA KULTYS PHYGITAL at the main gallery space (472 Hackney Road, London). The headsets are available to explore the NFTs in the one-of-a-kind 10,000 digital sqf gallery within the commercial art world.
